In order to create public order in South Jakarta, street vendors selling durian along Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, will be relocated to the Pasar Minggu traditional market. As many as 20 vendors have been registered and are ready to be accommodated in the market.

"We have conducted socialization to vendors. We do this, because its existence is already rampant, especially on the sidewalk," expressed South Jakarta Mayor, Syamsuddin Noor, Wednesday (6/11).

Noor asserted that those vendors have violated the applicable rules. "They have disturbed public facilities. We also requested a place in Block C on the first floor of Pasar Minggu," he stated. 

Manager of Pasar Minggu PD Pasar Jaya, Benyamin M, disclosed he and Pasar Minggu Urban Village apparatus have conducted data collection and held meeting four times with vendors. As a result, 20 vendors are ready to be relocated to Block C on the first floor.

"Socialization is conducted in Pasar Minggu Urban Village. We also have provided 20 stalls in the size of 4x2 meter," he told.

He continued that his side has invited vendor representatives to see the location. This is done to make them sure for prospects in the future. "But some vendors still assume the market would be deserted from buyers and not strategic," he reported

Yono, (45), one of vendors admitted he insists on rejecting the plan due to the market is not strategic. "I was hesitant to sell at the market. Moreover, the top floor is still empty," he exclaimed.
